More Signings for Red Star Ahead of Training Camp

Red Star Aalst made a few more additions to round out their team going into their first BPL season. The new signings are:

  • Bridge Fisher - D - ENG - 23 y/o
  • Tempeltun Ward - M - USA - 18 y/o
  • Archibald Friedland - GK - GER - 22 y/o
  • Larenzo Kirk - F - GER - 18 y/o

Bridge Fisher is set to make his debut in Belgium after spending the last 3 years playing in his native England. The 23 year old scored 3 goals while playing all 38 league matches last season, and will be expected to take up a wing back role for his new club.

18 year old American midfielder Tempeltun Ward has agreed to join Red Star as a professional, turning down a scholarship to American college North Carolina. Ward proved to be a very well-rounded player for the US U18 team, and will hope to bring that consistency to his pro career.

Archibald Friedland has been a top goalkeeper in his native Germany for the last 3 seasons, and joins Red Star to become their starter in net. The 22 year old has 102 matches played in the Bundesliga and started 34 times for a Berlin FC team that finished in 3rd place in their league last year.

One of the more impressive U18 players in the world last season, versatile attacker Larenzo Kirk will make his pro debut playing in Aalst this year. The versatile attacker has experience as an attacking midfielder, a striker, and a wing player, and his new club will be hoping that versatility will translate at the pro level.

As with the previous free agents, all four of these player signed 5 year deals with Aalst.

At a recent press availability, manager Rickard Oberlander confirmed that the signings for the team were complete. "We have our team assembled" said Oberlander. "Now, training camp will come soon and the real work will begin. We have signed a bunch of individuals, and we have to become a team."

With the regular season fast approaching, a full preview of Aalst's inaugural season will be coming soon.
